Ex-NBA player gets 10 years in prison for health care fraud

Former National Basketball Association (NBA) player Terrence Williams was found guilty of health insurance fraud. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

– Terrence not only filled his own pockets through fraud and deception, but also stole other people’s personal information and threatened a witness to carry out his criminal activity, – said the prosecutor.

The 36-year-old ex-player pleaded guilty last year. He was found to have used the NBA players’ health insurance and social security programs. There he sent fictitious applications for treatment. At the same time, the treatment was not carried out.
