Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed suspended the powers of the country’s head of government, Mohamed Huisein Roble.
The decree of the head of state is published on the government’s website.
The authorities suspect Mohamed Huisein Roble of corruption.
According to the president, the head of the government has become a defendant in the criminal case. He is suspected of embezzling public funds. The prime minister’s powers have been suspended pending an investigation. The other members of the government continue to fulfill their duties.
The President also ordered the suspension of the country’s naval commander, Abdihamid Mohamed Dirir. The President gave the appropriate order to the head of the army.
Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed should have already left the presidency, but elections did not take place in early 2021 due to the pandemic.
