The corruption case of Dean Skelos<\/a>, an ex-member of the New York state Senate<\/a>, and his son will be retried in the Federal court of Manhattan. Earlier, the ex-Senator was tried and convicted of fraud, but the court acquitted him on appeal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This week, ex-Senator Dean Skelos is again waiting in court: a new trial was initiated by a Supreme court decision that made changes in the handling of corruption cases in cases of bribery and extortion,

In 2015, Skelos’s father and son were found guilty of a number of corruption-related crimes. Federal prosecutors have charged that Skelos Sr. organized a fraudulent scheme: he extorted money from one of the firms involved in the construction and sale of real estate on long island, as well as another firm from Arizona.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
