The Basmanny court<\/a> decided to arrest Valery Markelov for two months, until December 1, 2018, as part of the investigation of interior Colonel Dmitry Zakharchenko.<\/a><\/p>\n

In addition to Markelov, one of the defendants is a lawyer Viktor Belevtsov, who was a confidant of Zakharchenko. The investigation believes that Zakharchenko was able to warn Marchukova about the upcoming search. Markelov is charged with the transfer of bribes (article 291 of the criminal code), Belevtsov \u2014 mediation in bribery (article 291.1 of the criminal code).<\/p>\n

According to “Rosbalt”, which refers to a source in the security services, Markelov suspected of mediation in the transfer of bribes in 2 billion rubles Zakharchenko. The bribe was from”one of the highest leaders of Railways of those times”.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the year, Forbes published a rating of “kings of the state order”, in which Markelov and his business partners got the first place. Charges against Zakharchenko
