Tens of thousands of demonstrators in Romania have rallied for a fourth night to protest against the government\u2019s controversial corruption decree.<\/p>\n
The capital Bucharest saw the biggest demonstration.<\/p>\n
Friday\u2019s show of anger came as the political crisis in the country deepened.<\/p>\n
The government insists it wants to ease Romania\u2019s overcrowded prisons, but the country\u2019s ombudsman went to the constitutional court to challenge the new law.<\/p>\n
The influential orthodox church also criticised the measure.<\/p>\n
But time is of the essence \u2013 there are only a few days before the decree comes into force.<\/p>\n
That will see dozens of officials jailed for corruption freed and hundreds of others avoid prosecution.<\/p>\n
