A Cabinet member of former President Cristina Fern\u00e1ndez<\/a> was sentenced to six years in prison on Wednesday, which is one of the loudest convictions in the fight against corruption that also entailed the capture of Fern\u00e1ndez.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Julio de Vido<\/a>, who served for 12 years as Minister of planning under fern\u00e1ndez and her late husband and predecessor Nestor Kirchner, was sentenced to five years and eight months on charges of pumping money from public works projects, indirectly causing a passenger crash in 2012 resulting in 51 deaths and 700 injuries.
