A distressed elderly man from Centurion<\/a> claims to have been a target of corruption at Wierdabrug<\/a> police<\/a>\u00a0station in Centurion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Karl Krenn (67) said things went awry when he started selling wood on municipal grounds in Centurion.<\/p>\n

Krenn said he obtained a permit from the Tshwane metro<\/a> to use the open space legally.<\/p>\n

He said another man who also sold wood opposite his stand started harassing him and assaulted his employees.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey used words of a defamatory nature, trying to intimidate my employees. One of my employees resigned because she was sexually harassed by them,\u201d said Krenn.<\/p>\n

Krenn said the bullies even went so far as to come to his house to trouble him.<\/p>\n

He claimed that the Wierdabrug police refused to investigate his complaints of intimidation and harassment.<\/p>\n

He said one of the officers asked for bribes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI refused to pay him to do his job.\u201d<\/p>\n

Krenn said he wanted to show the officer he did not have any money and took out his wallet, unaware that there was a R100 note inside.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe officer grabbed the note so quickly that I had to take a moment to realise what had happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said when he spoke to another officer, he was sent away.<\/p>\n

Krenn claims an officer at the police station was trying to fabricate cases against him.<\/p>\n

He said all of this happened just because he was a legal business owner who refused to pay bribes to officials supposed to do their jobs.<\/p>\n

The names of the police officers are known to\u00a0Rekord<\/a>\u00a0and an inquiry has been sent to the Wierdabrug police and the provincial police department for comment.<\/p>\n
