According to unofficial information, one of them is the judge of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tportal.hr\/tag\/zagreb-commercial-court\">Commercial Court in Zagreb<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jutarnji.hr\/vijesti\/crna-kronika\/uhicena-ugledna-sutkinja-uskok-pokrenuo-veliku-akciju-uz-vesnu-malenicu-za-izvlacenje-novca-iz-tvrtki-u-stecaju-sumnjici-se-i-milan-lucic\/6747303\/\">Vesna Malenica<\/a>. Several hours before the arrest, the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Judicial_Council_(Croatia)\">State Judicial Council<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Judicial_Council_(Croatia)\">DSV<\/a>) held a special session and lifted the judge&#8217;s immunity following a request by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/USKOK\">USKOK<\/a>, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vecernji.hr\/vijesti\/skinut-imunitet-sutkinji-dsv-ovrhe-1207667\">Vecernji List<\/a> on November 15, 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to initial information, she and other suspects are charged with offences connected with bankruptcy proceeding. During the afternoon, the police searched the suspects&#8217; apartments. It is believed that among the suspects are long-time appointed bankruptcy trustee <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sudacka-mreza.hr\/stecaj-upravitelji.aspx?Search=&amp;ShowID=98\">Pero Hrka\u010d<\/a>, entrepreneur <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tportal.hr\/biznis\/clanak\/nekad-mocnog-hercegovca-danas-progone-vjerovnici-i-istrazitelji\">Milan Lu\u010di\u0107<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vecernji.hr\/tag\/josip-debic-366547\">Josip Debi\u0107<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tportal.hr\/vijesti\/clanak\/uhicena-sutkinja-i-stecajni-upravitelj-na-ispitivanju-hoce-li-uskok-traziti-pritvor-foto-20171115\">Miroslav Mitak<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Lu\u010di\u0107 has reportedly not been arrested. According to some, he is in Austria, while others say he is ill.<\/p>\n<p>The police reported that, in cooperation with the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/USKOK\">USKOK<\/a>, it was &#8220;conducting a criminal investigation of several people for suspicion of committing criminal offences in the area of economic crimes with elements of corruption. There is an ongoing criminal investigation of the five suspects arrested. With regard to media inquiries, we can confirm that a Commercial Court official is among those arrested&#8221;, the police statement said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Judicial_Council_(Croatia)\">DSV<\/a> President <a href=\"http:\/\/hr.n1info.com\/a260746\/Vijesti\/Sto-se-dogadja-U-tajnosti-sazvana-izvanredna-sjednica-DSV-a.html\">\u017deljko \u0160ari\u0107<\/a>\u00a0explained he could not discuss a secret session of the Council, but confirmed that a meeting of the body was held, among other things, for the lifting of immunity of a judge. Several sources confirmed that the Council, which is in charge of appointing and removing judges, accepted the request to lift the immunity of a judge suspected of illegality in bankruptcy proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>Under the law, judges cannot be held responsible for their opinion or vote while making a court decision, unless their act represents a violation of the law which is a criminal offence. Without the approval of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Judicial_Council_(Croatia)\">DSV<\/a>, criminal proceedings against a judge for acts committed while performing their judicial duty cannot be launched. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Judicial_Council_(Croatia)\">DSV<\/a> sessions which decide about approving the initiation of criminal proceedings are not held in public.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This material belongs to: Total Croatia News.
