Journalist Manasseh of Awani accused the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Adda of nonchalant attitude to corruption, slogans against which helped him win the election in 2016, reports GhanaWeb.

Journalist of the year and winner of the “West Africa” Manasseh of Awuni said that the President Akufo-Addo only portrays himself as incorruptible anti-bribe.

In the 2016 elections, one of the factors that distinguished the candidate Akufo-Addo from his political opponents was his anti-corruption program. However, two years after his presidency, this myth, according to the journalist, destroyed: his presidency is no different from any other.

One of the indicators of insolvency, anti-corruption policy Akufo-Addo is that there is still no prosecutions against the former government, which he and his New Patriotic Party (NPP) nor been accused of corruption before, – Awuni said.

Some of the corrupt individuals, according to the journalist, are still at large, although their crimes have long been documented by the Prosecutor’s office.

Awuni said that he personally spent some journalistic investigation of corruption crimes. In 2017, he discovered sanitation contracts concluded between the government and companies belonging to the Jospong group. These contracts robbed the country of billions of Ghanaian cedis.
