Kyrgyzstan’s Anti-Corruption Service will be liquidated to protect business

The Anti-Corruption Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) will be liquidated due to the growth of criminal cases against entrepreneurs. In addition, the prosecutor’s office will be responsible for protecting business in the country.

President Sadyr Japarov said this at a meeting with business representatives, according to the website of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The President criticized law enforcement agencies for criminal cases against entrepreneurs and noted that the liquidation of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes (Financial Police) in March due to numerous complaints was the right decision.

President Japarov also stressed that the General Prosecutor’s Office of Kyrgyzstan will become the key body for protection of entrepreneurs and business interests.

According to 24kg news agency, Japarov also ordered to create an Anti-Corruption Business Council under the Presidential Executive Office on a voluntary basis, which will include entrepreneurs.

– If there are continuous and illegal checks, you can report to the Council or the Prosecutor General’s Office. I will control it myself, – the head of state said.

The Anti-Corruption Service of the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security was established in 2011 by former President Almazbek Atambayev.
