A HORIZON Power employee and a contractor have been charged with 78 counts each of corruptly soliciting or receiving a reward after a joint investigation by the State’s corruption watchdog and WA Police.
A number of premises, including Horizon Power’s Bentley headquarters, an accounting firm and a number of residential addresses, were searched last week as part of the investigation.
Horizon Power, which supplies power to about 100,000 residents and 10,000 businesses in regional WA, said the matter was first reported to the Corruption and Crime Commission last year.
“Horizon Power can confirm that no customer data has been impacted by the alleged misconduct,” a spokeswoman said.
A 42-year old man from Salter Point, and a 46-year old man from Mt Hawthorn have been bailed and will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on 19 and 23 October 2017 respectively.
